ahhh you’ve had rears from your lass - Jayne on the back too. With Sally it’s normally the end of a long day in the cold and just at the last petrol station when I say, “Only an hour to go now.”

Why would you want a 5 hour/260 mile ride to Portsmouth/St Malo ferry to get 5 miles from St Malo when you can have an 8 hour/ 500 mile one from Hull/Rotterdam one ?
Picturesque autoroute and some lovely bridges etc
If Doc had left Slawit this morning he could have caught the overnight Portsmouth/St Malo ferry tonight and be there in the morning instead of a three day slog through wind and rain .

That bridge is an absoute bastard in high winds; in all the years i've been riding it's the closest i've ever been to stopping and waiting for the wind to drop; great views tho; more so when you keep yer eyes open;

The old severn bridge is my local nightmare when its windy, the barriers are low. I am convinced if you hit the road barrier on a bike at the right angle you would fly between the suspension cables and clear both barriers into the river a very long way below.

The new Forth Road bridge has slats on the side that seem to funnel the wind up and over, I went over it in a big wind a couple of weeks ago, not looking forward to it, but it was fine
