Does anyone know where I can get highway pegs in the UK

I reckon it is only illegal if you get caught

Is that how it works? :nenau .....are all dubious practices ok unless you get caught?? :augie

.....I'm off down my bank, they've got loads of money I could do with right now.......so long as no-one sees me I'm in the clear! :augie

:D

Being a tit isn't actually illegal....

Unless you're driving like a tit. That is, driving dangerously or without due care and attention. :augie

I've thought about getting some of these myself, they would certainly be good for those long motorway commutes, so if you're doing a group buy and the price is right count me in!

I personally think the legality concerns are BS, bloody naysayers. :blast It's all pessimistic speculation AFAIC. Nevertheless I've asked the experts. Even if it was illegal, which I don't think it is, it's a risk I would be willing to take along with the tinted visor...

Conversely, if it is indeed illegal I doubt very much that any bike would be pulled over specifically for this. However, if you are driving like the tit mentioned above then you can bet your life he'll add these pegs to the offence along with the tinted visor...

I was talking about legal practices, not all dubious practices, many things I consider morally wrong are perfectly legal.

I do not think by using these pegs on a long motorway stretch is doing anyone any harm, the law is often shite, I also doubt too many coppers would be bothered by a rider using these if riding safely - as for controls I could argue as the GS has linked brakes I am not missing out on control.

Round my way we have many double white lines where it is a doddle to overtake, yet many blind bends have none, so legally I cannot overtake on a straight bit of road with great visibility no junctions and plenty of room to do a safe overtake, but I can legally overtake on many a blind bend / crest of a hill / outside a school etc.

Good luck with the bank job if it is a stealthy night time mission impossible style raid, but hope you get caught if your going with a balaclava and shotgun.

footrests officer?! :nenau
noo - that would be silly. :augie
they're 'helmet hangers';
after a wet ride my Wife and i hang our helmets over these to dry them out.

sheesh!
there - i've turned the mountain back into a molehill.

why are my fridays getting surreal every feckin week?
:banghead:

So is speeding, dark visors, over noisy exhaust pipes, being a tit, small number plate, no tax disc on display, defective headlight, non-EU approved indicators.......... The list goes on and on and on......

Sounds like the Wapping Wander Ardennes Trip.... Where do I sign up for the next one:D

PS Standing up at 100mph on the pegs was left out...

Rasher, after a few days on continental motorways last week, I'm considering these. I tried putting my leg on the crash bars but did not find that was great for me. Would also like to see where you mounted them and if possible a photo or two. Cheers

Will sort out a piccy, may not get around to until the weekend though.

They just blt to the side of the crash bars.

Finally got my arse in gear and sorted piccies, these things do work, with your feet on them they provide a bit more leg room and also change where the load on your arse rests, these will definately improve the miles between stops for me.

They are a bit close to be really comfy with your feet on them (well for my 6'1 inch long legged frame) but I can rest my calves on them and have my legs stretched right out in front and that is very nice (but probably best done out of sight of Mr Plod - ideal for French Motorway blats though)

Just be careful when filtering the will probably open cars up like a time of beans!

I've got highway pegs on my adventure but are going to take them off. The feckin bike is just too darned wide and they are almost impossible to use and be comfy.

They are fine on the standard GS because the crash bars are slightly different and the tank is smaller:thumb
