On Sunday morning I headed up to Donegal to do #1 on the Photo Rally, For some reason it didn't occur to me that a "Communications Mast" would be best placed on top a a mountain :blast Well i should have known better now really!.Anyway I got to where the photopoint was and took my photo in high winds but no rain thank god.Did a bit of sightseeing and headed to Bunbeg where I was booked into a hotel.I have to say that I LOVE Donegal and it had to be one of the best biking days for me to date! The road from Dungloe to the Glenties is something to experience! I stopped at the Blue Haven Hotel for lunch ,I asked the barman"Is that Ben Bulbin mountain way off in the distance?" "Aye" says he and added"If you can see Ben Bulbin it's probably going to Rain and if you can't see it,that's because it's raining already",,, perfect!

Next day ,I awoke to lashing rain and headed over Glenveagh into Letterkenny and across the border into Derry ,got to another hill top and took the shot of the Fishtail Milestone,No 2 on the list.A quick stop just outside Cookstown to get in #3 and then home.

Here is a link to a 2 minute rough cut video of the whole weekend including some shots of Killybegs which, you can smell when you are 3 km's away from and,Slieve League. When you do something like this you can't help wondering if there is any need to go outside of Ireland on a bike, yes of course there is,as there is so much to see but,it will do you no harm to sample this little country first. It may be small but it is diverse.

I'll pass on your message to the plank that selects the sites - but I'm nervous in case it encourages him to select even more out of the way places. Have you been to Leitrim yet - who ever found that must have been really lost. :augie :aidan

Hi Zanussi, We would enjoy the company but not sure of the sequence yet.... we're due to stay with family in a little town call Monasteraden Co Sligo for the easter weekend. We usually aim to get there on the good Friday, I think the plan is to do Leitrim 22 and then maybe Roscomman 23 on the Saturday. But that might change, we may try Leitrim on the Friday. Will pm you when we know exactly what our plans are.

If anyone's heading to Kesh you're welcome to join me on the Friday, taking the route less travelled, and picking up points 9,7,5 & 22 enroute to the hotel. Not sure of departure time yet as I'm waiting for someone to get back to me & let me know when suits them but it won't be too early. I'll keep youse posted ;)

Nice video Zanussi :thumb2 & apologies for the hijack :(
