The girl I sold my first scooter to did something similar

Vespa 100, she hit a pothole, the swing arm broke, which of course holds the whole engine, transmission and back wheel

The transmission case on my old CFMoto X8 broke.

It looked like an aero chocolate bar inside, bubbles, inclusions, the lot.

The bike only has a 170KG payload capability. 2 average size Men are going to be maxing that out easily - especially with the addition of Bike gear on top of the weight.

I remember making a new rear mounting lug and getting Muppets’ R1100GS gearbox casing TiG welded up at work years ago after he hit a pothole in the dark, it happened on the way home from Austria I think. Luckily the casting was good quality alloy and Luke our welder was a proper wizard.

Touratech made a “hard part” to prevent this happening to the 1100 gearboxes through frame flex/impact shock.

It’s truly horrendous in places, cars swerving last second into middle of road to avoid craters in the gutter.

Someone will be killed by this.
