I have a MAC but a slow broadband link. Streaming isn't an option using HD and BBC iPlayer. Is there any way of downloading the programme to watch at a later date? I have managed to get it done on the iPad but not the MAC Book Pro and i only have the lead to go from MAC Book to the TV

Sorted, i had to download the desktop software then in Applications find the iplayer desktop icon, cntrl and click then choose Open.....

What a Tosser

i think the official iplayer app limits the amount of time you can watch for.

had several progs that sidestep that, but they all stopped working. got another that works now: Get iPlayer Automator

Good one thanks, i have a thunderbolt cable but cant get the sound to come through the tv speaker, it still comes out the MACBook speakers, is it a separate feed for sound?

try going into System Preferences > Sound > Output tab and see what it's set to?

how do you connect a thunderbolt cable to a TV anyway, via an HDMI adaptor?

Yes, the thunderbolt cable connects to the TV HDMI Port

You've cracked it, when it is connected there is an option in the Sound Output settings for HDMI, i eveidently didnt look there last time :blast
