Have a Sept 03 GSA T/Spark with Y & Remus, no cat code plug fitted, otherwise standard. Has never had any of the power or surging problems from new. Bike done 17000+ miles. Got back from a trip to France parked in the garage. Next day running like a bag of sh..t, and like riding with oval wheels. Got in to dealers and replaced the TPS and both plug coils (ones in head) + reset all the cables, balance etc. 90% better but still has the surging at steady throttle in the 2/3000 rev range. Done the search done the tests, valve clearences, plugs etc. Waiting to get back in to dealers for another go at it. If you read this Steptoe whats the cure? Suspect the Oxy sensor may be! Dose the mod with the wire bridge work on Tsparks. Much peed of as used to be as smooth as any boxer can be, now a pain to ride in traffic and filtering a nightmare. Any suggestions helpfull and otherwise (yes I know this forum) would be most appreciated.

I've recently had some bad running (does "surging" occur at 4500rpm?) and did all the fettles you mention and not cured it.
But disconnecting the lamda probe (O2 sensor) has given me 300 trouble free miles so far.
I'm waiting to 'borrow' a probe to finally prove its malfunction.

So why not disconnect yours and see what happens.

Good luck............

Thanks Spout. Will have a go at that Saturday. Is the connection under the tank? Can I get to it without taking the whole thing off.

I've read that the connector can be undone with the tank on, but I took mine off so I could see what I was doing!
