...I know, not a moto, but having been to Spain last year via moto, we decided to spoil ourselves and treat ourselves to a tour in this..
The car, not the Chataeu
We queued up with the peasants for Eurotunnel and were off 20 mins later than expected because of a large influx of peasants, seemed everybody wanted to get away from the UK and who could blame then.
Anyways we ended up here after a short period of driving into Belgium...
Rip off prices, but a pleasant environment to spend an evening and the next day, went in one of these
To see this
And this
This
This
Well, you get the picture......It was funny, whilst waiting for the watercraft, we had to endure pushy Germans behind us, they thought we could not understand any German, they were right, but since verbal communication accounts for a small percentage of actual communication, it was obvious what was going on...I decided to find out if they could understand English, they could and with startling results, so I then went on to suggest that there may be U Boats in the canals, then quickly reminded myself that we had sunk most of those in the forties, acted mostly strange, started singing to myself and talking to myself.....It was then we found that we had plenty of room in the queue
We then went to see this...
I had always wanted to see a Salvador Dali Expo and it was just our luck that there was one on in the tower(first piccie) I can`t think why, but it reminded me of our German encounter
But there was beautiful, truly stunning examples too...
I loved it, along with the sculptures, Dali was a magnificent mind, truly honest and 100% real.
We then decided we would go to the Netherlands, to see the bulb fields, a friend had told me it was a great time to go, unfortunately the friend had neglected to tell me just how shit Holland is, not my cup of tea at all, the wife neglected to tell me that she had been and thought that I would not like it either
...I don`t know how long she had spent in Amsterdam peviously, but I thought it was the car that was attracting the attention on the motorway
Bulb fields.....OK, they do look pretty amazing, but once you have seen one.....You know the rest.
We made a hasty retreat from the Netherlands and back into Belgium

Can`t remember where we stayed, but it was dull.
The next day we headed for a place in France that was on the map, again, can`t remember where, but it had a river, quite a large one...
We didn`t like it here, so went back to the hotel and checked out and hit the road again....We ended up in a place that is at the moment unknown to me, but it was brilliant, the owner of the hotel was in Belgium visiting his daughter and we followed the instructions to the key and the room and he said he would be back first thing in the morning! Total trust and no CCTV that I could see..
A lovely hotel called George the 3rd, still can`t remember where exactly it was, but it was in a small village near to Pierrefonds which is where we intended to go the next day......Somewhere along the line we had a picnic in the woods close by, can`t remember exactly where, but it was nice
So we awoke on the morn and true to his word, the proprietor was there, I thanked him for his trust, paid him and we went on to Pierrefonds...
They were filming Merlin there
We met that Richard Wilson chappie, whose voice is so rich, that it sounds like chocolate being poured over velvet. I stood next to the young guy who plays Merlin, we exchanged a smile....I didn`t realise who he was until afterwards.....Well, when we got back to the UK to be honest...Don`t watch it and found the whole thing to be a pain in the arse really.
We had a sneaky cigarette with the crew and had a bit of chat and a piss-take and I chastised them for taking up all the hotel rooms in the lovely village

This is easily the coolest drainpipe and most interesting part of the Castle/Chateau
We then had a coffe next to the lake
It`s in the piccie somewhere.....
......Then trundled North and East looking for someplace to bed down, got bored, realised we had been to this part of france before and then decided to head back to the tunnel at breakneck speed
We were back in Blighty, indoors by 8.30 - 8 - 45 PM, didn`t look at the clock too hard, I was bursting for a piss.
5 days out of the intended 11 and just over 1000 miles in the old shed
