My 99 model 1150's drive shaft is dead I think, not got it out yet but bad vibes and a knocking noise, but I got a spare second hand one which may or may not be stuffed also, mine is I think the top UJ,s this one is a little more difficult, the rubber is a bit graunched where you can see it any opinions?? i will probably fit it and see anyway:augie

When mine went, I couldn't see a lot wrong with the shaft but there were a lot of rubber "crumbs" inside the shaft housing.

(I had already replaced the clutch which appeared to be slipping)

I thought mine was going - there was a real clunk I could hear and feel every now and then. I took it to Scrimmiger in Sleaford and it turned out to be the gearbox, which he rebuilt for me. Maybe worth a check

I am a bit busy and got to go to Germany before my next trip end of the monthg, so gave it to someone to look at he says the rubber peeling at the end of the new shaft is due to an oil leak not heat etc so no issue:augie
We will see what the rest of the surgery reveals :D
