What are the chances that i would ever need a replacement driveshaft for a 95 1100 , and will the newer one piece shaft fit all ages , just thinking , can anyone give me ideas , i have a chance to get a decent 2nd hand one .

i have some string, have a guess how long it is:nenau

some do, some dont, wouldnt bother, as if you buy a spare part for all the bits that MAY need replacing you will have a spare bike in your garage.

wouldnt worry too much, if you see a cheap one, get it, if not dont worry.

Drag starts,burn-outs and wheelie popping can stress the bonding inside the shaft (if the 1100 shaft is the same as the 1150 one i have) and cause it to slip like a bolloxed clutch.Normal use,no worries until very high mileage when you may have the U/Js fail.

A bike thats been stood for a year (in a police pound) can seize. DAMHIK. second hand one from Mworks was £80.

they quote £105 now. for a 97 on.. which I guess answers your other question.

Of all the parts on one of these bikes.. this would be one I wouldn't get paranoid about... I certainly wouldn't buy one 'on the offchance' - if it was cheap enough I'ld buy the thing and then advertise it. (being mercenary and that)
