So I’m looking for some cheaper DRLs. I have got Denali on a bike but one has failed after a few thousand miles. It’s out of warranty and you can’t get spares to repair them which is stupid considering the cost.
So I was going to try some cheaper DRLs off of aliexpress or ebay etc
Anyone got any recommendations of what they have bought?

I bought a pair of these a while back and they have served me well on my 1200 GS

AliExpress Aux Lights

Here's how they look mounted to the bike...

They are so cheap, buy the dearest ones and you can always replace them with another set for less than the premium brands.

curios question, my DLR's have a switch for high, low, flashing. Can i just replace the lights and expect the existing switch to assume the role on the new lights (be that blue light/flashing or whatever). I guess, is there any "brain" in a switch? My guess is not but worth knowing before just chopping wires to install new lamps

Les Wassell on here had a lighting company called Hid50. He may be able to sign post you to good suppliers or may even have something left over from his old business.

I have a pair of these in my GSA. Good quality. They mount straight to the mounting points for the OEM spots on the GSA, and I connected straight to the original wiring.
I just found this on AliExpress:
£7.39 | LED auxiliary headlight + mounting kit for BMW headlights GS 1200 1250 F800GS R1100GS F700GS black With Relay Wiring Harness

These are the ones my bike came to me fitted with five years ago. They have never given me any trouble apart from the plastic brackets that fit directly to the GSA light bar; I could never get the plastic brackets tight enough to stop the lights moving up and down when traveling so I replaced them with some alloy ones from aliexpress for about a fiver i think it was and they are wonderful and now with zero movement.

Yes, buy cheap, buy twice 😁
I gave up on cheap chinky ones and went back to Denali 👍

Which are probably made in China too.

Or maybe not.
From their website.

In 2022 DENALI officially joined forces with VisionX Lighting (and parent company Brown & Watson International). BWI is a global leader in automotive lighting, electrical, & power accessories with distribution & manufacturing facilities in USA, Australia, and Korea.
🤭

There's no doubt Denali kit is top quality. But when they charge exorbitant prices for their simple stuff like mounting brackets and and cable extensions, that just puts me off. Just one of those 'personal choice' things, no right or wrong answer, just what sits best with you.
