I tend to hang min eon hangers in the utility room until they've stopped ripping and then hang the lot in the airing cupboard overnight. Gloves and boots get teh same treatment.
The Gore-Tex membrane looks like a sheet of clingfilm and shouldn't be visible outside the jacket. You'll have an inner liner between the GT and you. It needs to be there 'cos GT is very breakable.
