Looked at one today and planning a test ride soon.

Anyone got one or ridden one at all.

Thoughts /comments?

2006.....First shown in the U.K. at the Stafford classic show.

I went down there, specifically to see, and possibly order, one of these.

Just couldn't do it. Why it the rear so 'jacked up' It really ruins the whole line of the 'bike......my eyes are constantly drawn to it.....that massive gap between the rear tyre, and the mudguard. Is it me, or is a complete 'eyesore' ? However, the engine is supposed to be a peach.....long legged, and reliable.

I really really wanted to like it, but decided to wait for the new Monster.

696cc will not do......Now waiting (again ) for the 1100.....

Ducati Sport Classic 1000

My brothers just took delivery of a new Sport Classic 1000 last week in yellow. It looks & sounds gorgous. I can`t wait to take it for a spin around the Yorkshire lanes.

Test rode the GT1000 at WDW last year.

I like them ... but I like the Hypermotard better.

Sales are not too strong on these I think ... so you might get one cheaper than the equivalent monster! :thumb2

Barry Carig on the site here had one of these, a Paul Smart replica. A gorgeous looking bike.

Have to agree Aidan1150, saw one in Ducati Manchester with twin sided Tergamollis, it looked absolutely bloody gorgous, loved to have struck her up, now if I could just afford a second bike :augie

Are you talking about the aircooled repros or the Hypermotard?.Hypermotards have just about sold out in Moto Italia in Lincoln.Even a mate of mine who has bought 3 Dukes from them, including a 1098 cant get a deal on one.
It took a discount/incentive to shift the Paul Smart bike though.
And now I cant drag my eyes away from the rear wheel/fender gap.

I wish you can get a deal on the Hypermotard. I am sure a couple of years and it will be fine.

Never convinced by this modern classic thing, bit like the mini / beetle in the car world I guess.

If I was buying a Ducati tomorrow, it'd have to be the Hypermoto c/w full bling package. Looked at it at the NEC, very nice. Tank range would be a pain, but I'd want to keep getting off to look at it anyway :)
