Dynamic ESA gubbins moves

Brand new to the GS and whilst looking over the bike I noticed that the dynamic ESA plastic gubbins and the attached gold jobby have some movement, perhaps an inch or so, where attached at the top of the white curley thing. Just checking that this is as it should be?

That's the way they are, at least that's the way mine is since 2015 with no issues.

Bike has gone into self destruct mode, nah you are fine its normal............

It's broken, it should be rigid and the rest of the bike should move round it
