I really fancy a 1200 Adventure.
The best I could afford would be an early one - 2006 or maybe 07.

A mate has the newer 2008 one with ESA etc.
He says it's not been reliable - problems with the key chip antenna prevent it starting sometimes.

Did the early 1200 Adventure have a key/chip based immobiliser? Do they have any other probelms to watch out for?

Cheers!

:D

I wouldn't call those years early, they're only max 2 years old  I'd call that as good as a new bike!

But yes they do get the same faults. Personally though I wouldn't let that worry you, it's a simple fix and should be done under warranty if you buy from a dealer. My ignition's never given me problems though.

Edit: Oh Adventure early. I getcha!

Theres more to go wrong on the new ones esa etc and they seem to have had more Ring antena problems. The vast amount of GSA12's behave, you don't hear much about trouble free ones on here:augie.Mines a sept 06 and I still love it ,have just extended the warranty for another year and will continue to enjoy hopefully:thumb

dont worry

had mine 15 months
done 18700 miles on it and i can honestly say its running better than ever
the more miles on it the better it runs
dont worry - get one you will love it :thumb
