How Do You Remove The Side Stand on a 1200 Adventure

Hi Folks,

How do you remove the side stand from a 2006 1200 Adventure ?

I removed the spring, and removed the screw, and the side stand switch, but the stand would not come awy from the frame.

What am I doing wrong ?

There is a sleeve in the side stand which goes into the frame. Use a small screw driver to push the sleeve out from behind...it goes flush against the housing so a little feeling around is needed. It is not tight so should have little trouble pushing out.

There is also a little circlip at the back which holds it all in place. Careful you don't lose it!!

Thanks for the replies, and help........Yep the circlip went "ping" and dissapeared, so I'll need a new one of those. Anyone know the part number ?
