earphones wearing in Spain

IMHO listing to music on a bike means 2 things --
1. You do too many motorway miles
2. Its fuc--n dangerous

Ps. Ride your bike and listen to music at home, so this will keep your mind on other road users.

:pullface

Do your lips move when you read ? :D

complete bollocks.

more important who the hell asks such damn fool questions, if that sort of thing is REALLY a concern for you then you shouldnt be leaving the UK.
Otherwise just fucking man up, get on the bike and go, if the thought of "possibly" breaking some random law by wearing earphones bothers you, then fucking give up breathing coz the rest of us can put the air to better use.
Fucking Jez get real !!!!!! and get a life.

Steptoe , Micky , Ash and Bowser the next time your Surgeon has his head phones on when operating on you , i take it thats okay as he must have his mind on the job....................giving you all a reality implant xx
Its annoyong enough having sat nav in you helmet without the fucin Archers playing as well ............:tosser

My main point is a mate was killed and the police at the scene reported that the death was possibly cause by distraction as he has an mp3 player and headphones on. I was at the scene
.
I would never wear them as they can distract you .....but life is a choice

..... and I've dealt with a few fatal motorcycle accidents!

I would have no objection to my surgeon listening to music if it helps him to concentrate :pullface

I used to have the same opinion as your good self, and that's all it is .... a fucking opinion, then I wised up ;)

By the way ... is everyone that has a different opinion to you a wanker?

I disagree with the distraction arguement too.

I find that my music calms me down and makes me relax on the bike. This in turn makes me ride smoother and concentrate more on my lines and other relevant stuff rather than if the bike is a bit rattly or whether the suspension needs tweaking:thumb

Music can break up a long journey.... I've now got my music library on the Zumo... but just discovered the delight of a DAB radio :)

Do you own/drive a car...:nenau

If yes, I hope you've had the 'ICE' disconnected and please, don't try to say that's different....:blast

Have you ever noticed how close an emergency vehicle can get to you before you hear it in a tin box....:thumb

As said, choices...but that doesn't mean that those of us that listen to music on two wheels ( I've been doing so for best part of 4 decades) are...:tosser

well since you mention it, no its not unheard off for surgons to listen to music whilst operating, and the earphones are to keep out road noise, and it means I dont have to have the music turned up to high, in addition its not unheard of to listen to music in the car.
I dont generaly listen to the sat nav but just have the visual map to glance at.

I say again bollocks.
The worst it does is block out sounds around you, and Deaf people seem to manage to drive without difficulty. And again do it or not I couldnt care less, but the idea of worrying over is it legal or not, XXX!*(£*$%&*%&

i find music while riding sharpens my concentration. i've tried with the archers too as it happens, and that did screw it up.

the police at the scene reported that the death was possibly cause by distraction as he has an mp3 player and headphones on

could have been, but then it could have been anything really, couldn't it? sounds like the old bill clutching at straws to me.

I always have music on especially on the long hauls I do. It's in the background and I don't find it distracts me at all. It's no better or worse than having it on in the car in my opinion.

In fact on long runs it's a positive because you do not get bored so easily and that is when you make errors.

Rode up from South Yorksire to Aberdeen yesterday (Saturday), with Gracie, on our likkle G650 Xcountries :thumb

Freezing fog most of the way :nenau

Thank goodness for the iPod playlists and my OTS monitors .... they made the ride even more enjoyable AND much safer :D

In our opinion of course ;)

:beerjug:

Another tinnitus sufferer, riding without music would be sheer hell.

What I would say though is riding with cheap/ill fitting speakers can sometimes be distracting as you have to concentrate more to hear the music.

With a good set of in ear speakers the music is crystal clear, blocks out road noise and definitely helps me concentrate. I use adaptatunes on my iPhone, it alters the volume as you increase/decrease speed so it never gets too loud.

When stationary with my helmet on I have no problems having a conversation.

I'm near enough in the Stick camp....

I tried music and e-books on my bikes over several thousand miles and all sorts of roads. Didn't like either, finding both an unnecessary distraction.

I have also given up with bike-to-bike radios / Bluetooth, Autocom (and similar malarky) and all / any voice prompts or 'ping things' from the GPS.

Nice, comfortable, moulded earplugs.... It's the future :thumb2

Like the idea of this but appears to have been deleted, anybody know of anything similar?

Listen to music through my autocom system all the time on the bike, once in a blue moon, turn it off because it was distracting (usually in a strange city). Wish You Were Here playing while riding through The Alp/Pyrenees, excellent!!!
