earphones wearing in Spain

I tried music and e-books on my bikes over several thousand miles and all sorts of roads. Didn't like either, finding both an unnecessary distraction.

I have also given up with bike-to-bike radios / Bluetooth, Autocom (and similar malarky) and all / any voice prompts or 'ping things' from the GPS.

Nice, comfortable, moulded earplugs.... It's the future :thumb2

I thank you :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

im with stick as well,a long trip with decent ear plugs allows you to concentrate on the journey, your surroundings and the people in cars trying to kill you:D.next summer im doing my longest trip so far down to spain and of all the things im thinking about music isnt one of them.

I used to wear ear plugs and listen to music while touring on the GS, but since joining this forum, I no longer listen to music. I constantly strain to listen for the FD packing in or gearbox grinding:augie:augie

Out of interest, how many of those of you who won't listen to music on your bikes apply the same restrictions to driving a car, i.e. no radio, no discussion with passengers?

What the FCUK has this load of bollocks got to do with Pyreneese, Picos Spain and Portugal :nenau:nenau:nenau:nenau,

I think the information the Op was after was posted in the first couple of replies

Each to their own, and I'm on the side of not listening to music as it's a bloody distraction, and I can't hear what's going on around me, which for my own safety is paramount.

Think on this also- Insurance companies are very savvy on the statistics of 'distractions' causing accidents, and those who have unfortunately come to grief where it is possible to prove that such distraction may have been causal,( whether true or not) are likely to find that their insurance cover is not quite what they expected.

How do I know ?- I have a mate who is a loss adjuster.

About as much as this had to do with ranting:

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3269055&postcount=1

or this had to do with the inner technical workings of a 1200cc BMW of the GS variety:

But that's just a wild guess, mind. I could well be wrong.

I think you've missed the point wapping, but I think with yourself thats a regular occurance.

The original post was,

earphones wearing in Spain

My mate is off to Spain very soon. He thinks there is a law about the use of playing music/ wearing earphones while riding a bike?

Anyone shed any light on this?

And was eventually answered here

Which states:

"I can't comment on the laws in other countries listed, but as for the headphone law in Spain, it has always been ilegal to wear headphones in Spain. However, just about everyone I ride with in Spain has intercom or some sort of helmet speaker set up for GPS and music - this includes some guys who are traffic cops.

What will get you in trouble is wearing in-ear headphones. In-helmet speakers, while technically in violation of the law, would only be a problem if the cop wanted to be a prick or you pissed him off. Otherwise they use common sense and do not consider the in-helmet set ups to be an issue."

Interesting.

Which was about the 4th or 5th post, And then developed into a who wears what does what with whoom and what is dangerouse, will send you deaf, ect ect ect. which goes on and on and on and so if you had taken the trouble to digest my post you would see that was the point of my post.

As for my post in the rants section, it was titled Only in the US, (which if you need me to explain then your thicker than I thought) had you taken the trouble to digest my post you would maybe understand that it was intended to be a rant, but then again maybe your not that smart.

My posting enquiring about insurance was in the wrong section, but I think I stated that in the first line of the posting, but again I suppose you just missed that aswell.

And so I suggest you wind your neck in, and instead of jumping in on here as you seem to do on a regular occassion, sit back and enjoy the ride for a change and stop trying to be clever pissing on peoples comments as you do so often, your not that smart.
