Earplugs and speakers

Said it before, say it again - make your own customs. Koss "the Plug" earphones from ebay = £12, pot of medical mounding silicone = £15 for enough for 500 pairs or so, and some basic common sense.

Takes 10 mins or so to do. Done a load for me and mates, no complaints at all, and really quiet with fantasic sound.

I'm sure the "real" ones are excellent too, but they are a lot of dosh.

Tempted, but what if you pump the silicone in both ears and it meets in the middle  ?

Tempting, but you don't need to pump it in.

I'm going to try Green Leopard plugs next, as I'm fed up with the fragile Ultimate ear ones breaking.

Mine get heavy use, but they have caused me too many problems and I'm bolloxed if I'm going to carry on paying £35 a time to have them fixed.

Nice fit though and great sound.......just not heavy duty enough IMO.

Got a set of Ultimate Ears on order from the Baulieu bike weekend, at £149 plus £20 for the autocom adapter. Is it just me being weird, or did anyone else enjoy the cold silicone injected into their ear canals (I found it very soothing on a a hot day).

Agree with the comments about the Autocom music being mega loud through earplugs, can't wait to get my custom moulded ultimates. :)

just had my moulds made today and yes it is a weird sensation, to say the least, but then....not a wholly unpleasant one!

I was happy to see that little plugs on thin strings were carefully inserted at the correct depth in the earhole first to prevent technician wasting a half gallon of silicone filling the vacant space between my ears!!! (well, how else can I justify £149 on 2 small bits of plastic???? DOH!)

Sounds like a clever idea, any chance of a Blue Peter style here's one I made earlier demonstartion ??
