you have the monday blues, we get the tuesday blues:thumb

Aye but the paint's still peeling aff ma fuel cap and hubs :spitfire

If anything was done to my bike why wasn't I told :nenau

If you want this to be resolved contact your manager and get him to call me regarding this instead of you stirring and trying to save face:augie

I am quite happy sorting this off line to avoid embarassement on your part and speaking to a chief.:thumb2

I'll forward this to BMW Services as advised by one of the blokes in the shop

Foggy, you may wish to re-arrange these words:

The put down digging shovel and stop :thumb

I've never used MCE or MCW, as I personally think that my time is more valuable than any small financial benefit I may get from buying a bike from Scotland, but I've always had a high opinion of the company. This is primarily because of the service that has been constantly and consistantly praised by Oonyack (amongst others).

Thanks to your posts, I now wonder if the entire company is staffed by prats. While you may not give a toss because I'm not one of your customers, don't forget that a large number of both your current and potantial future customers will also be reading this. I just hope for your sake that your manager doesn't

7 posts and some great free advertising for John Clarks

This guy has to be some kind of record holder :clap :clap

Is it true that North face "John" has left ?

Yes it’s true. As from last Friday I am no longer a share holder or employed by Motorrad Central (Scotland) Ltd. This had been planned for some time by Ken and myself but was put on hold because of the fire at Motorrad Central West.
I’m sure the company will go from strength to strength and I wish them all the best for the future.

JD

ps I don’t know who Foggy is either.

Very Sorry to hear that John. In my opinion your personality and approach was one of the main reasons for MCW's high level of customer satisfaction. That's not to say that the remainder of the team won't continue to strive their best but................................... You'll be sorely missed :(

Jumping in at the back here

While I don't live in the homeland anymore, I would imagine BMW dealerships have a fairly equivalent standard of service throughout the country.

This being said, I have an identical (in more ways than one:augie) bike to Oonyak and mine also suffered corrosion damage.

My local dealers, Alan Jeffries of Shipley, were only too happy to almost go beyond what needed to be done.

Still I did spend 10 and a half grand, then went on to buy panniers and inner bags from then.

Warranties, I believe, should be honoured at whichever dealership and if substandard paintwork is corroded and rusty, which is the case on both of these bikes, then how come one bike gets fixed and the other one doesn't :spitfire:spitfire

Mechanics get paid to fix the bikes that they are told to fix. Blaming them is just not on :spitfire Whilst many people have probably had great service when they are buying or servicing a bike,

WHAT REALLY MAKES A DEALER IS THEIR RESPONSE WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG

I have never had dealings with said dealer but what has gone on is wrong:mad:

Who are you Foggy ?
It was obvious from your first post that you are associated with MCE.
John, good luck with whatever your future holds. Thanks for the good work in the past.:thumb2
My experience with Scottish dealerships aint that great tbh.
I shall never spend another penny with Calterdons.:spitfire (Thats before I met Oonyack.) I know some of the crap that Oonyack experienced at their hand, and they have lost £10`s of thousands as a result. Are they bothered.:nenau
I have had a problem with MCW I spoke to the team in place, ultimately John. The problem was sorted to my satisfaction. End of.
Sometimes you can only tell how good a company really is when you have a problem with them. Its how they deal with it that matters.

Why should Pog, using one dealer get a satisfactory result and then Oonyack get treated differently ?
That’s not on.
So, who are you Foggy ?

Aye, they even gave the bike a wee clean as well. Free coffee and excellent customer service. How come the Scottish dealers aren't the same

I cannot fault Alan Jeffries at all, excellent dealers. I thought that all BMW dealers have to provide a certain standard of service

I will be hopefully moving back to the Homeland in the future but will have to carefully consider which dealer I give my custom, service and money to

Bike did get a wee blast in the wash booth on the way in for it's service and we got free coffee:thumb
Peter the salesman couldn't have done anymore when we bought Tash's bike:clap

As Foggy said
Because of the fire

"customers who are now inconvienienced due to the long booking times. ( you must have caught us after one of these )"
thats fine then mind you I did leave my bike there for 3 weeks and said no hurrry:thumb

"the friendly face isn't passing the buck, just a bad day for us all!
you have the monday blues, we get the tuesday blues "

Better book my bike in on a wednesday the next time:D

"The level of customer satisfaction will be higher now as both are gonna be singing from the same hymn sheet. know what i mean?"

Hopefully it has been written in Glasgow:thumb

Oh G.C. Ordered a sh1t load of stuff fae Calterdon yesterday

In my experience they are  Well Motorrad Central West AND East that is. I have been a regular customer at both for the past few years and ALWAYS received impeccable service from ALL staff at both locations. Never any dirty looks when Skye climbed over their bikes as a toddler, well she still does it  and always went that bit further than any other dealers (car or bike) I have used in the past. We are both always made welcome at either location for their launch day BBQs events with loads to eat. Being on many runs organised by both dealerships over the past few years and always excellent banter and very friendly. Never came across any EAST / WEST issues

Despite West being my local dealer I actually had my R1200GS test ride a few years ago at East and they were so helpful. Bought my R1200GS from Bishopbriggs about a year later after frequent window shopping visits to both to drool over it and figure out where to get the money.

During its first service they advised me of a few problems and got the parts order in and soon fitted me back in. I hadn't even noticed the problems.

Bike was in at Dalkeith for its first annual service today and again excellent service form all staff I spoke to (don't think there was anybody that I didn't speak to at one point or another during my time there). Technician came out and told me of a few issues (all minor) that he had came across (again I hadn't noticed them) and got the parts ordered. Offered to clean my bike before me taking it away but mine is covered in WD40 so said not to bother (I don't have any corrosion ;) ). I was very pleased with his professionalism and attention to detail which is identical to my experience at Bishopbriggs.

I have owned BMWs since 1975 and can easily say that the welcome and service I have received at either location has been exemplary. They have identified warranty issues and sorted them out quickly to my total satisfaction. The other 3 BMW dealers i have dealt with over the years were rubbish and no longer exist.

John

Sorry to hear your leaving. Peter told me today that you had left as I hadn't noticed this thread until I came into the Dealers section tonight to post on my experiences today.

It was always nice to pop into Bishopbriggs and have a chat with yourself and the staff, or to catch up on the many runs I enjoyed. Enjoy your time with the family and I wish you every success in the future. It was a pleasure doing business with you.

Iain
