East Mids Autumn Rally - 30th October

I've seen bigger groups out, so no I don't think it is overly big, but I'll leave that for you more experienced 'laners. However I don't feel confident enough to lead, I think I have those three maps so can support another person who is prepared to lead, if required.

I'll be on my 400 so should be able to make most of the lanes.

Think 9 will be fine anyway you fast guys can leave muddy ruts for us to follow and fall off in then we'll catch up whilst your having a fag and getting your breath back!

Fuel won't be an issue,will be sorted,:thumby:
I am happy with the size of the group,it's going to pretty quiet on a Saturday where we are heading.
One of the ABR ride outs had@ 25 riders and it worked out ok
We can sort the details before we set out,:D
really looking forward to getting out, havnt ridden of Tarmac since Spain,:comfort
My new toy has been christened the "orange thug":D:D
Gonna get myself a hoodie and some trakky bottoms to complete the image:thumb
Meeting the cricket club fella 3.45pm so turn up any time after :thumby:

The people have spoken

Guess the group size will be what it will be then :P

Maybe we should adopt a Top gear style, if ya break down, get lost or run out of fuel, your on your own :green gri:D that should keep things moving along nicely :yelrotflm

Looking at Google maps it looks like the cricket pitch is past the pub and take the left fork and it's on the left - is this correct?

:beerjug:

It's on the Buckminster road as you leave the village (on the right)

Thanks

Like a lot of good plans ours has gone to rat sh*t so leaving Sheffield late :blast will be there about 7pm putting the tent up in the dark :blast:blast

Thanks to Mike for organising.

Thanks to everyone for making it a top weekend. Apart from Flat Dog, who frankly, was abusive.

Dear Mr. Bear,

The pie run went through Oakham and Melton. There were other pie stops planned, however, everyone had had their pieful in Oakham.

Leesons Butchers on the high street. All of their pies are made at the butchers shops. Pork pies are made in the traditional Melton Mowbray hand raised pork pie method. They also make a great cornish pasty.

Some partook, I purchase one for the off road group to consume but it never got opened. I hope Mikeyboy remembered to take it out of the fridge to share with the lovely Mrs. Mikeyboy.

As well as the pie stop, we also stopped at the Saddle Inn in Twyford for lunch, where they weren't expecting us, but managed to feed us all with good quality lunch, both cooked and uncooked.

It's a pity you couldn't make it, you'd have been amply fulfilled. Anytime you want, I'll give you the tour. Maybe Norfolk Tiger will make up the group.

I must also say, apart from the weird way we were called in to dinner, The Crown in Sproxton was an excellent venue for the weekend, along with the cricket pitch and pavilion.
