is the the angle of the pics or does that top case look huge compared to the older model?

It does look rather large. Does it sit further back than the previous 12?
Yes, it is taller than the previous topbox. Personally never liked them on the 1200GS as they sit too far back and now with the extra height, not for me.
It's not the angle. The box is larger than prior GS. As seen it is NOT in the extended position.
Didn't have GS box on last bike. Used Givi so don't know if he sitting position of box is different.
