I may have a problem with the ECU on a 2001 (single-spark) bike.
It seems to be firing the N/S injector in random bursts.Swapping the injector makes no difference.
Looking at the pins, one of them has arcing marks on it and i can hear arcing noises.Cleaning the pin/connector hasn't made any difference.Pulling F5 makes the noise go away.
I have a spare ECU from an 1100GS.I will need to go thru the pin assignment first, but has anyone tried fitting an 1100 ECU to an 1150 successfully?.
Or has anyone got a spare 1150 ECU i can borrow?.

Checked a few pins, looks to be differences.
The 1100 ECU is a Motronic 2.2 and the 1150 ECU is a 2.4.
Think i'll change the HES first.

Most unlikely to be the ECU

As I recall on most Bosch injection systems, there is a permanent 12v to each injector when the engine is running.
The ECU "switches" the earth connection off and on to pulse the injectors.

First of all , go to faulty injector with engine running. Unplug, and check is there 12. at the injector. If not, look for supply fault.

Next, if that is ok, check the earth connection from the ECU. May be corroded.

Thanks for that Myke.
It's a bit of a weird one.Noticed that it's both injectors happily buzzing away,so i'm looking at a common problem.I did find a chafed (blue) wire under the battery holder which i repaired and also one of the pins on the ECU was corroded.Hopefully, the wet and dry clean-up did the trick and that there is no damage to the ECU.
I found a thread by GregNeedham from about a year ago which described very similar symptoms with the fix being the HES.
I've already swapped the Ig switch cable, fuel pump and a bunch of relays
I'm not sure if it is related, but i,m also having an ABS problem on switch on where the ABS lights flash alternately and i'm unable to reset the ABS at pin 2 on the diag plug.
