. . . eeerm, i dropped it

dropped mine a few times now, most embarrassing was when I came home, chatted with my neighbour whilst sitting on the bike, after a few minutes stepped off the bike but forgot that I hadn't put the side stand down, ended up lying next to the bike waving my arms and legs in the air like a fly

.........she even mentioned it today when we bumped into each other whilst bringing in the milk in her dressing gown...........
The mind boggles! :blagblah

Once popped to the Minibank, parked the Norton rotary on its propstand and as I was getting off the stand collapsed :bobby

Sprawled in a big heap but the shoppers came to my rescue and pulled me from under :blush

:beerjug:

Would that be before or after you chatted up a young female probationer who was on Town Beat 1?...:P

So what? Its a GS. Get over it! My new GSA went off roading in its first week and binned it several times...

That's one of the reasons I keep coming back here. People are just so kind, understanding and sensitive to the needs of others........:comfort

oh, yeah i forgot to add that i 'toppled-off' if it with only 20 miles on the clock - surely a record for being a plonker :(
)

I bought my first GS from Prestige Motorcyles in Kent and dropped it on the way home taking a short cut over Blackheath :augie Didn't realise wet grass could be so slippery and helped back up by 4 guys passing by in a car. Luckily falling over on grass didn't harm the bike.

Since then I've toppled on occasion - nothing to worry about ;)

Got any pics of the neighbour in her dressing gown

She's just a PE teacher at the local school - surely looking at a young teacher in her gym kit is something that not really that interesting . . . or is it ! ;)
come on, stick to shaft drives, oil viscosity & tyre talk, ha ha ha

It was the same period of my career dear ... but the incident was at the Yorkshire Bank at Parkgate :nenau

Just to beat all of you and make every single bike rider in the world feel better. . .

I bought a brand-spanking new Ducati 888s and binned it 3 yards from the dealer in full view of the salesman and 15 customers. The dry clutch caught me out and it stalled, dropped and slid me & the bike 10 yards down the road. I had owned it for 15 seconds.

One week later, dropped it again at 1 mph trying to negotiate a 180 turn in a tight road across a camber with the typical Ducati steerling lock (0 degrees).

£750 worth of damage to each side each time.

So now I ride a GS, and when I lay it down it costs £0 in damage, and any scratches just add character.

Cheap...! My son binned his K1200S at 10 mph on a mini roundabout that had a squash ball sized spot with the coefficient of friction of ice. Result - £2.5K's worth of damage to the offside of the bike.

The K was quickly chopped in for a GS. Nearly getting lasered at go-to-jail speeds the week before helped with the decision.....:blast
