Hey up
Me new bike has a BMW electronic rev counter ( An add on from Motobins )
It sort of works
It sort of has a mind of its own

It seems to be a plug and play do dah
I have checked the terminals in the plug - has anyone had any experiance with these gadgets and is there owt else to check
Ideas welcome
Its on a 1990 GS by the way

May be for sale soon if I cant sort it - but it does look nice - just like me :augie :augie

There's been a few of the guys buy these pieces of crap. God help you if the owners wife answers the phone when you ring to complain. appalling attitude.

. . that's good to know, Rob, I'll now scrap the idea of fitting a rev counter . .

In the head light box, you've got a round conector with 3 wire... here it is

One wire fore lightning the tacho (+ take with city light wire)
One + after ignition switch is ON
and the - (signal for rev) is wired to the negative of the coil

I have understand your question ? Answered ? Feel free to ask, i've a bad english, but I can try to explain more ;-)

Four wires in mine. Mine works OK until I switch the lights on. I suspect the LED pilot light and tail light throws it out due to different resistance/current values.

Now thats interesting regarding the lights

I will try that out

Maybe if I run a seperate live to the revcounter thats switched with a relay
in stead of piggybacking supply off another feed to something else
More as it appens
Any other Ideas would be tried of course
I may also disconect the light to the unit :thumb2
