... Recently my main email account (Yahoo) was apparently hacked and an auto-response embedded which sends a spam email to anyone who uses my address. Is there a simple way to delete this ? I have changed the password to something more challenging but the auto response is irritating

Can't you go into 'options' at the top of the yahoo page, then 'mail options'. Check in both 'signature' and 'holiday response' to see if there's anything configured there. If not, looks like some Malware on yer computer, so either install and run malwarebytes and run a spyware scan on your harddrive to find and remove the malware which must have been installed. If you don't have the malware tool already, try it or get the freeware tool "hijackthis", it quickly scans your computer to find settings that may have been changed by spyware, malware or other unwanted programs. HijackThis creates a report, or log file, with the results of the scan. Check the "overview, FAQ and quick start guide" buttons in the top bar to find out how this tool works.

Then google for "hijackthis forum", click on one of the many links and follow the prompts. Those forums have volunteers who help you to analyze your hijackthis log and get rid of the malware on your computer. Below are a couple of links to such forums:

Excellent, now change yer password to something which is a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.

Like "8MW1150gs@dventur3" err, but don't use that one :D

Cheers..../Rob
