Bob .....
Ahhh goodness, I'm not for one minute saying that the BM is quicker - we all know that the 1190 will leave it for dust top end. What I'm saying is that on the roads I tend to migrate to, there would not be a lot in it. Super bike mag in south Africa did a load of testing and there's about a tenth of a second between them over 1/4 mile. The BM consistently beats it in roll on tests.
So in terms of torque and low to mid range grunt (think open the gas out the corner) the BM has the early jump on the KTM ...... until all that KTM power kicks in
.
B500 Black forest? Bye bye BMW ..... KTM will just disappear. The B roads off the B500?? (some of the best roads I've ridden..!) ... now were in a different ball game and its down to short squirt grunt, brakes, suspension and handling. It would be neck and neck
My desire is not all about speed
It's a bigger picture than that, I guess I know the BM is a good bike (it is - it's a bloody good bike ....) but I don't love it. I've never patted it on the tank and winked at it ....
