I would have done had the man from Oz coughed up his £12.... Which would have been a lot easier....

Thank you though for the rent of the space....

It's not my space.......but it's not yours either!!!

....that's something you should remember....

Yes it makes a big difference

I ordered my new bike with the enduro box, was promised that I'd see it around about 1st April. But alas, no. I'm still getting the bus to work.

Ask and ye may receive.....

BuMW Park Lane (who's mitts I have crossed with gold more times than is strictly decent) have agreed to see if they can get a 1200GSA (with an enduro box, naturally) in for a demo....apparently they are few and far between, but who knows?

The bod I talked to has promised that the salesman / PR bod, Matt, will call me back.... I won't let him forget....

Should they come up with the goods and you want to try one, I will let you know. It is not a million miles away...

..and don't forget to budget for "road based" tyres..as I believe it comes with Knobblies...

You can specify enduro box and road tyres - done it many times.

I have had both enduro and 'ordinary' - in my opinion not that different in the real world.

Done stelvio on both, stoppped on hills fully loaded.

I have not done 'real' off road so cannot comment here.

At present I have 'normal box' on a 2010 model.

No it does not. Please get facts right before posting.

Order the Enduro gearbox and it comes with road tyres.

Order the Enduro PACKAGE and it comes with road legal tkc 80's.

Thats something that is published on BMW brochure and your dealer can advise.

:eek

Wapping.....it is probably better that I don't reply to your post, as you are right in what you say, that everyone has got an opinion.....it is just a shame that you think that yours is always right, regardless of anyone else's, as yours is so much obviously superior.
!

I must be missing where Wapping stated an opinion on Enduro boxes:nenau All I can see is him stating the obvious and then you agreeing with him:D

Please read my post properly before admonishing me..."I believe"...in fact what Mr BMW Salesman told me 4 weeks ago when I enquired..at my "Dealers"..hence "I believe"..not "it does"...Ok? Clear enough for you?

What a load of Bollox is being posted in this thread.

This subject has been through the mill several times on this forum.

For some reason some BMW 'naysayers' have set their minds against the Enduro 1st gear.

They have not ridden one, they have not bought one and they are rubbishing or 'Nay say Ing' it for no other reason than they have nothing to say on the matter.

I say again, having bought one and ridden one, that if all bikes came with the enduro first gear then no one would bother ordering the standard taller gear.

OK

This is your post unedited and uncut.

"and don't forget to budget for "road based" tyres..as I believe it comes with Knobblies..."

I read it properly.

It says "and don't forget to budget for "road based" tyres..as I believe it comes with Knobblies..."

Please read my post again. Your post was factually incorrect and it is easy to find the info to confirm that on the BMW www site and in the GSA brochure.

I only post info I know to be correct. Sorry if that does not suit some.

You really are a card aren't you...? I said "I believe" because that's what my dealer...you know? The bloke you suggested I check with? ..told me... too tricky a concept to understand..."I believe" as opposed to "it does"..?

Your loverly dealer had a non-enduro box bike available within a few days from stock or from BMW UK as most most bikes are pre built with the standard 1st gear.

Its in their interest to sell bikes. They wanted a quick sale. You believed their sales pitch. Check your facts next time before buying, its always a jolly good idea.

By the way I said to check the BMW web site and the GSA brochure not believe what a salesman tells you. (Have you bought a timeshare recently)

Or maybe you did not want an enduro box anyway because you had not found out enough info on the bike you were buying.

Anyway, I'm outa here.
