Hi everyone!
Had few problems on my 650GS yesterday and wanted to know if someone experienced this!
For about 30 mins the engine would just switch off when I was in 1st gear and starting to brake. I stopped for about 15 mins and the problem did not reappear after that. The bike starts ok so can’t be a battery problem.
Later on in the afternoon, on the motorway, I was riding at 80mph and on 5th gear when I heard a nasty noise and suddenly the throttle would not respond, i.e. I was losing speed very fast
. I managed to make my way to the emergency lane and stop there. The RPM clock was showing >8000 and in the red, I was surprised because by then I was stationary with the engine in neutral and not raving and to be precise I did not rave up the engine to reach 8000rpm at anytime!! After a few minutes I started the bike again and managed to make my way home slowly ( I did not dare to get into 5th gear in case something is broken there as I had problems to go down form 5th when prob occurred and had another nasty noise going down to 1st gear!).
So my question is, anyone had probs like that? Are the 2 issues related? After about 15/20 mins the RPM went back to normal (btwn 2000 and 4000ish rpm) and I got home ok without any other problem with the bike!
