its been a while since I have posted,, I couldn't remember how so I tagged this question (with pics ,,I hope) on the end of my last (old)thread.. but I am asking it here as a new thread but I cant access the pics to re post.

anyway I am fitting a 1150 engine into a Citroen ,, but I have a plug that I cant work out.. my Clymer manual says it goes to the timing sensor,, I have no idea where to find this? (I know what a HES is ) its part of the fuelling circuit in that the green wire white trace is common with the injectors/fuel pump but as I say I am not aware of timing sensor other than the HES..its the same style plug as the injectors

also something that the manual vaguely refers to as a motronice relay.... I believe its not a relay at all its, the relay sized/shaped changeable box that alters the fuelling dependant on country,,, I don't have a relay and I don't ever see a situation when I would need to change it,, and since I am not using the fuse box can I get rid of it? is so I imagine I need to connect at least 2 of the wires together,, if so any advice on which ones!!?

many thanks

It’s a jumper block. Depending on which of the terminals are connected together, will determine which fuelling maps the motronic will use to run the engine. All the different colour coded plugs are is a fixed jumper pattern. If you don’t have a plug fitted then all the lines back to the motronic are open, which is the best way to leave it. There are only 3 wires that lead to the motronic, and a fourth line which goes to earth. So by earthing any combination of those 3 lines will set which ever fuel map you want.

it was just in the right place at the wrong time,, the gearbox had to come out,,, and I got carried away with what seemed like a good idea at the time

I for one would like to see/hear/watch that when it's done......Please......:)

sorry I am rusty my last answer was to "the one and only"

can I post vids here? I imagine I would have to do a youtube vid or something and set a link?? I was doing vids back last March (youtube) on the Citroen build, but soon realised that either I or the content was too boring, i stopped by popular demand just as I was blasting and painting the motor..

You can indeed post YouTube videos here. You can embed them or just put a link in your post.

I'm not asking for anything too elaborate, just a little video looking around the completed project AND see it whizzing down the road....it sounds like a bit of fun.

Please...:)

I too would like to see this . This week on Salvage Hunters they had a Citroen and they were thinking of putting a 1200 engine into it

Strangely 1200 engines are cheaper.. (cosmetically cleaner newer) than 1150's.) but can bus!! Sorting out the wiring for an ecu has taxed my brain cell has been at the limit of my ability (OK. outside my ability or I wouldn't have had to cry for help).. They spent a lot of money to get 20 of hp.. I don't think all the bmw bits I bought cost me anywhere near.. (mind you getting the gearbox upgraded with proper seals and higher gearing hurt my wallet)

Seems to be more interest here than on citroen forums.. I Am in danger of being burned a stake there

Funny you should say that. Many years ago, Car Magazine ran a 2 CV with a turbo. It came to an untimely end in a funeral pyre of its own making.

The driver (Pete) is who I bought the gearbox adapter plate from and rebuilt my box.. (My box was ###ked) which was the justification of the engine transplant, added to the traffic jam I caused on the way to and from the MOT station.. On the one time I drove it with the original engine
