Engine Warning Light

How often do you use it - your description seems to point not much = fukc all.
How many miles have YOU done on it?
If youv'e done little mileage since then it sounds like a limp home mode has kicked in due to low battery crank voltage which fails to complete system checks? or creates other unfathomable errors.

Probably battery related or user error;).

Seeing as the bike will be collected under warranty, let them diagnose/fix it. Then, instead of bitching and moaning about it before diagnosis, let us know what they found, then moan. capish?:D

Wow you are a fucking arsehole

Sounds like the OP is basically asking for help to see if this is a common or even a known fault on this model (better to have some idea of what may be wrong ) , it probably is sensor or battery related but I spoke at length last year to a Dutch rider who had ended up with a new wiring loom on his 2013 r1200gs wc because of running problems, so until the bike has been plugged in to the diagnostics there is little that can be done

However, typical of this forum some ................. pops up and suggests 'user error' , how the f*@k can anyone jump to that conclusion ?

There are some decent people in here for sure but also some right dickheads.

Check the block connecter from the throttle, part way down the right handle bar, bad connection on mine caused the same thing in Morocco. The block was pulling apart slightly when bike was on full lock. Happened a few times, ended up removing all the cable ties holding the wire in place and managed to gain about 1/2" more cable from under tank. Fastened everything back in place and never had a problem since

This was the answer. Thanks.

Seems like the block connector was loose - didn't look like it because the wee sleeve seemed to be in the right place but it wasn't seated properly.

Surprisingly flimsy connection - but it's fixed in place now and a cable tie doubling it up to stop it coming out again.

Thanks for the help.
