Ok, all the important presents are bought, but I needed to get one or 2 more
Did a search on on this, but looks like the symptons with mine are different.
I've a 2006 1200gsa with servo brakes, 2 days ago it wouldn't start. Turned the key, everything happened as normal, went through the diagnostics, fuel pump whirred, warning lights went off etc. But when I pressed the starter button, it turned over a little bit, but not enough for the engine to start. Any time I pressed the starter button I got a click, but no starter turning over. After a few times, no joy so left it.
Tried it last night and it started first time. I wasn't going anywhere, but just let it run for 5 minutes then took the key out thinking it's sorted.
But then this afternoon I tried it again. Same as 2 days ago. It almost started, the engine started to kick into life on the first press of the starter. Same happened on the second press, but after that I just got the "click". Tried it for a few minutes, but just got the click sound, so gave up.
Bike has the original battery, and it was only 3 degrees celsius outside. I see some people were having battery problems in the cold, could it be that? Or is a change of plugs needed? Hoping it's the battery and I can just replace it with a new decent one. Bike has always been in a garage, but this year it's in an underground car park that is fairly open to the elements, so the bike is much colder than normal.
About to get a lift to the shops to sort out the last few presents, so it's not urgent
