England is a big place, if you can be a bit more specific then maybe I can be of more help.
For example, If he is near Melton Mowbray, Countrywide are very good and have a depot in Mallusk
Birds are just south of Birmingham and have a depot in Ballyclare.
There are loads more, but if you can give a pickup location in England then maybe I can give you a recommendation.

The gearbox isn't that big so Hermes might take it if the weight isn't excessive. They would probably be worth checking out and will probably be the cheapest option.
If Hermes won't take it then Countrywide in Melton Mowbray are probably the closest.
Your cheapest option is to have the gearbox dropped to their depot and then collect yourself from Mallusk.
If that is not possible then you will be charged for the collection to be made and the cargo shipped to Mallusk. Should you want them to deliver then you would be charged for that too.
Ring Countrywide on 028 9080 0800 to get a quote.

I'll be in Leicester and Hinckley on Monday and if you can get the gearbox to me then I will take it home for free. You'll have to collect it near Jonesborough though.
I will be travelling over the A50 from the M6 to the M1 around about or just after lunchtime, doing a delivery in Leicester then going on to Hinckley and most likely parking up in that area on Monday night.
The gearbox would be in the country on Wednesday.
Feel free to ring me on 07429 423 952 if that suits and you can make it work.

For future reference, I just sent a 29kg package with senditnow to England for less than £13.00. Picked up from my door on the Tuesday and delivered on the Thursday. Well pleased !
