Hoping someone has already done this...coz i'm stuck!
Fitted some performance parts to my 1100, namely, Laser race can and straight through pipe, K&N filter, 1100S air inlets and a pair of brisk plugs. Then i had a brainwave that to make it all work together i ought to fit an appropriate chip.So i bought an Eprom chip off ebay from a reputable german chip seller.Unfortunately the instructions are in german, but using common sense and time i fitted it ok, bike fired up straight off....

However, the tick over was all over the place so i took it into my local BMW garage (Pidcocks of Long eaton) to have it set up using the correct equipment. After half an hour of fiddling, we couldn't get the meter to even register the CO, so put it down to the chip or more likely the wrong plug (??) that sits in the fuse box.The tick over is marginally better, but of course im worrying that if ive messed it up will it go bang? Looks like i'll have to retro fit the original chip and live with it unless someone out there can point me in the right direction.
The bike feels much freer and livelier, but just need the idle sorting and hopefully the fuel/air ratio....

Cheers, fingers crossed, Goose

You should have had a Y shaped piece of wire with male terminals fitted. This has to be connected into a connector box inside your fuse box and can be connected in a variety of ways depending on the config you have chosed. e.g stock can and cat, stock can and no cat, aftermarket can and cat etc. If you didn't get the y piece and a diagram with the various connecting positions then I suspect this is your problem. Maybe someone on the board has a copy of the specific instruction page and can send it you, you could easily make the Y wire yourself.

When I fitted mine, I had to re-adjust the TPS setting from 0.370 volts to about 0.39 volts. Made a big difference to the idle. Do a search on TPS to find out how to do this. Piece of piss really.

Also had to adjust my CO using the CO potentiometer under the rear seat.

Read the 2 threads I referenced above first before you do anything.
