an accurate fuel guage .. forget it. its a load of shite.
just reset the trip each time then you know whats really happening
Ah, that looks like it!
I reckon that might explain why the fuel gauge also is behaving differently all of a sudden, assuming the float's only one side.
Anyone know how this is meant to work? Does it keep both sides balanced, or only pump fuel when the level drops to a certain point, which would make sense? I guess if I'm lucky I might just have a broken wire, bad connection, or something.

Filled up my GSAdv with fuel so I could get it to the dealer to fix fuel transfer problem. Thought I should ride it at least 150 miles to make sure it would get there (110 miles away, thru very rural area with no cell service). In the past, it would go about 240 miles before lack of fuel transfer would cause it to run out. I got 3 miles from the gas station when it dropped dead (on a 65mph highway). Looks like the fuel pump died, the usual fuel pump noise when you first turn the key on was gone. Could be that the pump was running slower, which would cause the lack of fuel transfer from the right side of the tank, then it finally just died.

Even if I did take it without them having time to clean it!
