Ok guys, my bike(R1150GS) was running fine...but I heard the ticking noise from the right Throttle body and decided to go for Dan's kit. Kit arrived and both TB's refurbished...no prob. While I was at it i gave a look to the valves to see if they were correctly set. No prob..the valves only needed a very slight setting(Just to get them perfect!) Made the Throttle position sensor perfectly to .36v! Reset the motroninc, turned the throttle 3 times.... Started the bike.Ok bike started, not really happy with the idling, but it is still cold! not even 1 bar on the display and the right header is red hot???!!!??! Bike is switched off immediately.

So I guess it is lack of fuel that is causing this....Should I open the air mix and then set it slowly or what am I missing....The bike seems to run on both cylinders but is too Lean????
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Nah it seems fine! maybe it's the throttle cable adjustment I need to do first!!

Check it again; it can sometimes 'hang up' without looking as obvious as the pictures, as in the cable outer can catch inside the ferrule :augie

sounds very like a throttle cable hanging as tim suggested.

Ok if you're sure.
It's running on one cylinder by the sounds of things or one and a bit:D

Since you've had the throttle bushes done check one's not sticking.
Double check your TPS setting I run mine richer ie. higher than that.
How did you do your 'reset'? ign on then open/close x 2, ign off?

How old is your bike, is it twin spark as it could also be the symptom of a coil stick?

Ok I checked the right side cable, and it seems fine...I have adjusted the idle with a carb tune ?(only bbs screws 2 turns out)and it seems equal. I have a bad ignition at certain times in the right hand TB...feels like a pre ignition? I will now try the 2500rpm tune for the cables and see where I am in tuning. If this "pre ignition" continues I will have to visit my local mechanic cause I do not like it a bit...I think that before it used to do it, really less strong and just when cold! Any more tips welcome!

Just to clarify... you only adjusted the bike at idle with the brass air screws right... then you adjusted at higher rpms with the 10mm nut and finger turnie things right?

(Still have to do this but a bit confused on where to begin...)

(Still have to do this but a bit confused on where to begin...)

Begin with the idle, adjust with BOTH brass screws set to tickover speed and balanced

Balance throttles using rh cable adjuster at around 4,000rpm

Recheck idle balance

Do it quick as you can as you may overheat the engine

Haven't screwed around with the stop screw!! I will try to set it up tomorrow, and get the fan in front of the engine! Maybe itll help! I noticed that no one commented on the pre ignition thing so Im assuming that it is normal! :) thanks for all your help! Will let you know the outcome!

Re the 'pre ignition'

You normally only hear that when the engine's very hot and under a bit of load or when using very poor fuel.

When you set the tps (which is a bit weak I think) did you recheck after you'd tightened the screws because it often changes your setting then?

I did, but i will re adjust to.38v since I aleays found the bike too lean..

Hi Pizellu, I'll watch with interest as I posted this query recently;

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showth...r-on-the-right-hand-cylinder-or-is-it-just-me

I have my bike booked in tomorrow for a diagnostic (to clear any existing fault codes), to get the stick coils tested and for a general tune up including TPS.
The guy doing the work knows these beasties inside out and stated that it may be a jammed butterfly, something he has seen before and only on the 1150 and only on the RHS throttle body!

It's running well enough but there's something just not quite right.

Hope you get sorted out ok.

I mentioned that above.... as I'd heard of a couple with replaced bushes that stick.
Let us know what your outcome is:beerjug:
