Reevsey (AR14) has gone over again. Even though the likes of Pastrana & Lampkin can't finish the event 'our boy' is going for 3 out of 3 And he ain't gettin' any younger either

First report from yesterday:

I know I say this every year but it looks really hard / almost impossible. Oh, and it's raining hard. Just done the rocket ride (hillclimb comp) and was 17th so am in the final (starting now !) Did a sighting lap up the prologue an it's a lot different 2 last year, more chicanes. Gone up 1 on the front so she'll b good 4 90mph+ I hope !

Later yesterday evening :

Won my rocket ride heat and my 1/4 final but missed out on the final cos I was 4th in the semi. Still in one piece though. Prologue 2morow early morning !
Waaaaaaaaarp ! (that's a bike going flat out noise)

Finally (for now) todays 'report' :

Just done 1st prologue, did 135kph on the big straight (didn't roll it off 4 the blind crest this year !) will get times later

I'll update this again when I hear from him, hopefully later this evening.

77th after yesterday, 15 seconds off front row ! Gordon (Clarke) was 67th, 9 seconds off front. Did 2nd prologue b4, times later.

Got this earlier when I was out & about and haven't had a chance it post it

He's only gone & done it again - finished, I mean

16th. Only 17 finishers out of the 500. Gordon dnf'd. Clutch casing broke.

Sounds like another hard one - 17 outta 500

Howya,

Just home now. Thanks fer all yer support and comments and stuff. I managed to do it again. It was harder than last year (as usual) and hotter and I struggled as my back brake hose snapped going round the big Red bull can on the first corner(l think l got clipped by someone) so l had no back brake for the entire race, which was challenging to say the least - had to kill it and roll down hills with the back wheel locked and the front brake on as much as possible!
Gordon Clarke came over with me from Wicklow for his first attempt and smoked me in the prologue and qualified 35th, but got lost in the main race, overheated and put a hole in his clutch cover and lost the gearbox oil, he carried on til the clutch gave in and got 3/4 way round and is already talking about going next year.

So I'll have to go again I think...

Yeah we made it there alright... Austria...wow what a country.. Well done Andrew, better luck next time Gordon..!!
We spent most of the race at the first series of hills watching all 500 attempting them, then moved to the finish area, it was completely surrounded by a wall of people so when Taddy appeared from the hollow behind it he couldnt find the way in to the finish area, and my mate stood out and waved him in through a gap in the crowd...! Afterwards I was telling him it was his fourth time in a row to win.. he said 'well you'd think he'd know where the finish is by now..!!!'

Great holiday, especially the trip back through Austria, over the Grossglockner and a few other passes , snow capped peaks from one end of the country to the other,,,
