Hi all

I've recently cottoned on to the fact that we get a decent ride two's up with the damping set to Sport and two helmets preload.

Paula and I are both around the 11 stone mark. The Normal setting is noticeably bouncy on country roads. The bike is a GS TC 12 plate and 18500k miles.

Am I right in thinking the suspension may already be past its best and if so any recommends on non BMW replacement? Whats the usual life expectancy on the shocks, any ideas?

Thanks

TimboLM

My front shock went at 20k so I replaced with wilbers front and back for the same price of a bmw front ,
And I've got to say it is fantastic I just didn't realise how tired it was getting before hand .

I had my esa units replaced with wilbers a couple of weeks ago. 27k on them, they were tired but not shot. The shia pleasure of a smooth ride is worth the change.

Changing the suspension whole suspension unit is ok if you want spend lots of cash, a couple of us have recently changed the rear spring with a hyper pro progressive spring from Motorworks £80ish and this completely sorts the rear end. The ESA still works fine. Video on how to on youtube and you can rent/buy the spring compressor from Motorworks when you buy the spring.
