Been listening to Liveline today and OMG and aren't youse gettin well screwed with your bills :eek:

The people were saying their bills from the same period last year were doubled and then some. Have you noticed this and why the big price difference ?

:aidan

mine came in yesterday. €329. Never seen it so bloody high

Is that only for 2 months ?

Up here we get ours by the quarter and the last recent bill I recall as being under £170

It's no wonder alot of people come from the South to shop up here

:aidan

Yep for 2 months. The highest I've ever seen it before was around €220.

I can't wait to see the gas bill....

Ah, I see. That's not really helping the recession down here though
(and yes, I know it's not your fault entirely )

I know what you are saying, but why are your ESB bills so high ?

I know costs of all types of fuel and energy rose but your's appears to be very high increases :nenau

they're clever ****ers.

They put the price right up due to oil prices. When the oil prices dropped the ESB & Bord Gais announced price drops in October but effective from March. Make sure they get the winter months in first where we'll all be using loads of gas and electricity.....

anna nother thing! :rob

this global warming lark should be saving us money.

i have evidence... :green gri

the ESB are just taking cricket scores and putting them on bills.

Sure lets have a roll call. We have two on €329.

Domestic bills only though....

Robbed from the LiveLine website

ESB PRICES
Sheila's two-monthly domestic bill is usually around €250. Her most recent bill was €323.

Brendan runs a small business. In 2002, his monthly bill was apx €800 per month. His bill is now in excess of €3,000 per month.

Sean's domestic bill is generally between €600 - €800. He was away for Christmas but his latest bill was €1249.40.

Eileen didn't put up a Christmas tree this year, but her bill is €25 more than usual.

Ann's Christmas bill was €280. Her November bill was €206. Her August bill was €146. Her June bill was €140.

Paul's bill came to €667 for two months. This time last year it was €396.

Fiona's bill has doubled from averge of €285 per month to €655.

Naomi's bill is usually €200 - €240. Her last bill was €530.

Our November bill which was estimated as were the previous 4 bills averaged €219.00.
Our January bill which was from an actual meter reading was €347.00

The difference been the correction for underestimated previous bills.

The ESB who are contracted to read the meters are only obliged to read the once in a 12 month period.
Therefore at the time of the actual reading there will need to be some sort of adjustment made on the next bill for poorly estimated usage.
