ESB bills

its no wonder the esb are getting there pay rise, they can well aff0rd it with the prices they charge.:(:(
beats me how the likes of airtricty can give 10 to 20% discounts on the esb price while still hiring the lines etc of the esb
we are being taken to the cleaners no wonder the country is fecked with golden handshakes and bills for jam:mad::mad:

The difference been the correction for underestimated previous bills.

The ESB who are contracted to read the meters are only obliged to read the once in a 12 month period.
Therefore at the time of the actual reading there will need to be some sort of adjustment made on the next bill for poorly estimated usage.

This is the rather invidious truth in all these cases, I suspect. It certainly is the same with mine. ESB have estimated my last four bills, but this time I phoned in an accurate reading. Low and behold, it is huge, and it therefore appears that they have been underestimating for perhaps the past year and now I'm paying for the sloppiness in their billing system.

This is bad enough, but couple it with the price rise that accompanied the bill and you have the situation that more units than should be are (most probably) being charged at the newer, higher rate. God only knows how much 'extra' they have made on this nice little system that they have going there........
:eek
Its not unreasonable, I suggest, that a customer has an entitlement to accurate billing.............except in trhe case of the ESB, it seems.

Bills are broken down into units, your unit price is the real cost, you only pay for whaat you use.
people clamoured for compitition, this then forced up prices via a regulator, so as the new companies could make a profit,
this country is too small and network too remote for anyone to succeed and turn a profit,
the public service levy is to compensate for the stations having to use turf as a generating fuel, turf is shite for generation, but we have to think of the people employed in Bord na Mona,
what about the 13.5 % tax, the ESB already gives a subsidy to the Gov. ( 4 million last year ) :rob :type

Feckers. You get a pay rise and then you show us the lads doing a nixer fixing some phone lines..
I hear the lad who cleans the muck off your tyres in the morning gets 70 grand and a solid gold pension:P

Do agree about the regulator thing.. Artificially putting up the price so we'll be forced to get leccie from another supplier that don't seem to be there.. Can't blame ye for some overpaid feckwitt civil servants idotic decision.

Oh.. and those union feckwitts don't do much for public opinion when they blow their mouth off on the radio..

Classic :clap

No idea yet what our bill is - SWMBO is out & gawd knows where she hides them. I only pay the bill, don't you know. And it'd be damn sight cheaper if some of the lights were turned off every now & again. Bet you can see my house at night from space :blast

I came across these the other day - as far as I can see they show you what you're bill is going to be and make you turn stuff off. They're a bit pricey but might end up paying for themselves pretty quickly at this rate.

Gas bill came in. €320.

So combined my gas and ESB bills have been €650 for two months. And I only live in an ex-council house in Crumlin not a 15 room castle.

Madness - €325 a month for heating and leccie.
