etrex question

Hi i have a etrex venture cx (similar to legend / vista) and when i load a route in from memory map it sticks flags as the waypoint symbols. How can i change the default waypoint symbol!! Is it on the etrex or on memory map. Cant find it anywhere in the manual.

Do you have mapsource loaded?
If not then it will use the turns as waypoints like a track?
