I needed a couple of new tyres on the airhead RS. The local tyre dealer (Witney Superbike Tyres) are top lads, but the last time I took my RS into them it was a complete mare for them, so I looked for somewhere a little more airhead-friendly.
I decided on Euro Classics in Northampton, run by the delightful Phil and Dinah.
Bought the tyres over the phone (pair of Contis) on Phil's advice, and cranked the RS up to Northampton. Needed a couple of calls to get directions (GPS battery flat and I still need to wire in the connection), and as I rolled up I was met by Dinah and a cuppa!
Phil spirited the bike off, and I got to chat with a guy who was picking up a stone-original R100RS (must have been one of the first - spoked wheels and a rear drum) and Phil too.
Phil sorted out my running problem (carbs needed a tweak) in about five minutes, and another cuppa and I was rolling again.
Brilliant service - and absolutely smashing people. A definite recommend.
