BIKE STOLEN NORTHAMPTON

Any update at all JJ?

No Dave I haven't heard anything, I have various people keeping a look out and people using Facebook etc but I doubt anything will be found.
I think good advice from Wapping and thank you for the time that post must have taken :beerjug:.Its only now that I realise how complacent I had become with regards to better security in the garage.
I've lived in this nice little quiet area for 2 years now and live in my little bubble of work, taking the dog out and social etc. thinking all is rosy.
Over the last few months of owning a new GS someone has clocked it whether that's in the garage or me cleaning it outside or followed me home but they knew what they wanted.
I'm just so pissed about the smaller bits, it really boils my blood as some things are no use to any other person.
My previous 10 year old GS obviously wasn't that tempting for them.

I'll keep you posted.

Get a tracker, it's the future, I've been through the torment of a car theft this year, I didn't even know thieves didn't need a key to take them these days. it was a stressful experience the insurance paid me 16k (a good payout) but went through all my details and circumstances, named drivers , access to other vehicles etc etc with a fine tooth comb. EVERYTHING you put on the proposal form is questioned in person. 16 page statement/form to complete in the presence of their claims rep, a retired police officer.

Bike trac is a great product, £100 a year once it is installed. Look at their Facebook page, London is taking a big hit but they recover most vehicles.

I tracked my car down myself on eBay, but only to an advert, was in little pieces locally in 3 days. Even the £40 trackers on eBay are proven to work, one lad on the Audi forum got his car back from the lot that probably took mine.

But would you really want your bike back after some scrote has nicked it/ thrashed it/ crashed it/ dropped it?

I used to think that but having been through it yes I would. It's mine, not theirs, the cops don't have the resources to give a shit unless violence is involved, these fookers are running wild.

Ive never bothered with bike or car insurance. I reckon if my bike was stolen and I had to fork out for a like replacement then i'd still be quids in, due to all the premium money I haven't paid.

Should the landrover ever get pinched we'll have a collection for you shouldn't take long to raise the £50 to cover it :P

Next job fro me !!!

Looks like my next job had better be beefing up the garage locks !!!

Hope you get most of the costs back....... don't forget if you purchased any of your kit on your Credit Card, it may be covered by their insurance ?

Cheers Piggers.

Really sorry to hear of this incident, it's a real pain in the A** to say the least.
What annoys me probably even more than the theft of bikes/cars etc is the amount of blame that seems to be being apportioned to the innocent owners/ victims, how can it ever be the fault of the victim?!!!
Why can't the judicial system and the general public apportion all the blame to the thieving scum, who have no respect for anyone else or their property!
The world has gone mad, a thief is a thief and should be punished and removed from society until they can learn to abide by the rules like the rest of us.
In the old days a horse thief was shown no mercy, reckon we could learn something from our forefathers in this respect.

Oh and if anyone says some of these thieves are desperate and they have no choice, well that is just an insult to all people who are struggling who don't break the law!

Hope your insurance company plays ball and treats you properly!
cheers

Many thanks :thumb2

Well I've had a response from the insurers and the claim is now going through, I just need to wait for the offer now.
So hopefully I'll be in the market for a new GS pretty soon :thumb2

So after they get away with paying much less than a replacement bike would cost, I'll be in the market for an old GS pretty soon :thumb2

Fixed. Sorry!:D
