European Travel Insurance

Hi guys,

Headin off to Europe next Sunday and today decided to tick the box and get travel insurance from my usual outfit 'getcover.ie'... but they now only cover upto 350cc

I have in date E111 card but do need travel insurance, I've been trawling here and google but can't find Irish specific insurers for bikes??

Any pointers of where to look or not look??

HC Travel now offer specific biker travel insurance to non-UK residents through a subsidiary company: www.bikerstravelinsurance.co.uk.

Check out "AIS" for annual cover including snowsports and bikes, though I use Carole Nash as well. Only downside with AIS is the 150 limit for items, like digital camera etc.

Axa are pretty good in the UK for motorcycling.

Reading the policy, motorcycle riding is covered as long as the rider has a full licence and the claimant wear a helmet

Insure and Go are pretty good, but I think you have to notify them about bing on a bike and pay a bit more - but cover looks very good, I use them for all my Holidays (they also cover diving to 30m FOC)

Cruiser, make sure you mention your going on the motorcycle early on.
I am a member of the RAC so thought I would try them, got half way through the proceedings when I mentioned my Bike, oh says he, what CC is it, Its a 1200 says I, just a minute Sir, pause, sorry we only insure bikes up to 125cc.
