Excessive oil usage

Just done a tour of France on my twin cam and noticed that on one day the oil level was a bit lower than previously so topped up to just below the top of the sight glass. A couple of days later I checked only to find no oil at all showing on the sight glass, this was in 36-37 degree temps using the prescribed Castrol power 1 15-50 semi.

Once back to cooler climates it seems to be ok again, anyone else had similar?

Yep my 2011 hexhead and 2014 gsa lc were the same, high temps and extended autobahn use would mean a top up was needed every 800 to 1000 miles, both were fine in the UK.

Oddly enough on my last 2018 gsa and current 1250 gsa since they changed onto Shell (BMW ) oil neither have used oil
