At the moment I have a Remus exhaust fitted. I repacked it a few weeks ago, but it's still load. I concerned that it may spoil my trip. So looking for ideas on how to make it quieter or thinking of if replacing with a Leo Vince or similar. Any positive advice welcomed.

I've had a few exhausts on mine.

Akro end can, I found it too loud for day after day riding; noise pissed me off in the end so it is now taken off and sat in the garage (mates thought it sounded nice from behind and it may have been okay for occasional trail rides, but not day after day in my opinion)

Leo Vince (x4 I think) end can. From an unscientific riders test, I think this sits somewhere between the Akro and the OE. Not done an extensive tour with it on yet but early impressions are favourable (though I have currently taken it off)

OE - yes, they are v heavy (and v robust) but I like them. V quiet in stock form, and can also be decatted. This is what I run most of the time on road and trail. No booming headaches.

So, if you don't fancy reverting to OE, the Leo Vince may be a reasonable compromise between loudness, weight and robustness.

I have titanium akro, with baffle in ok ish. Baffle out, pop's bangs and those behind me say it sound's awesome.

Personally, I'd fit/get standard end can, you can always sell it afterwards.

Earplugs? or I have a standard end can, possible loan. Long way from you though.

My apologies, didn`t realise I was in the wrong section when I replied to this thread, seeing as I have a 1200 the end can will be useless for you.:blast

Davey Bee I have also been wrestling with this one. The weight I can live with but the heat off the system is a pain. Decatting it may be a good idea if you're technically minded. There's a thread on that either on here or ADV. I haven't heard the Leo Vince other than on YouTube but I agree with GFJ . If it's gonna be a long trip I would stick with the quiet stock. If it's just days here and there and it's worth 300 quid to you then Leo Vince X3 probably the only option.

It's does reduce the heat, especially just under your left thigh, which you feel when waiting at traffic lights etc.

I've tried the scorpion can, and also the remus free ride without baffle, and once the novelty wore off I soon got pissed off with the noise. And no real noticeable improvement in performance.

So I'm back to the oem can, but I think the baffles are now mobile. Bike seems very reluctant to pull more than 60-70mph. Will cut this open soon and have a look.

The only can I might try now is the SR racing offering.

What seems to have improved mid range pick up was fitting a remus big bore header pipe...

I have a remus with cat, it came without a baffle and was stupid loud!

I have now fitted a baffle in and it is only a touch louder then stock!

That's interesting I'll get on to Remus and see if they can supply one.
