I had to cut off the two bolts that secure the bottom of the cat, to the mainstand frame.

These bolts are basically a rubber bush, with a threaded bit either side, one into the frame, the other into the cat.

I just tried to order them from Motorworks, and the bloke sadi they don't do them anymore, as the system holds in place well enough without them, and that later models weren't fitted with them.

So is it OK to use the bike with just the exhaust clamp and bracket on the rear subframe in situ?

:nenau

Cheers

Jamie

Their not the same as the ones they use to attatch the bash plate to the sump are they? Cos I know you can still get them somewhere cos I had some fitted to the 1100.

They are available from BMW, less than a pound each IIRC (and often in stock. I bought some recently).

Their the ones I was thinking of, don't know if they would fit where Jamie wants to use them.

I searched the fiche and couldn't see any that fitted the description in the exhaust or the main stand sections.

They're bigger than the bash-plate ones. I remember sending some to BHT from an old exhaust I had lying around at the time.

I don't think there's any need to refit though.

Cheers Steve, I'll give it a go.

Thanks Trippy and Dave, but I know about those. ;)

I can confirm that these rubber bushed bolts were deleted by BMW as being unnecessary anymore. Had the same problem with an old 1100RT. So far the exhaust hasn't fallen off.

Rubber bits

I brought some the other week to fit an adventure plate to my 1150gs, instock and cheap from BMW dealers.
