Exhaust extension R1150GSA

Hi Billy,
How have you found this in use? It looks great and a very neat solution.

Cheers,
Jon

Even neater ...

... to dump the 'silencer' and fit a stubby; and that's not a small tin of beverage either :D

Yes, of course you can dump the 'silencer' but I chose to keep my silencer and use the extension.
The panniers have the cut out for the silencer anyway.
The extension is well made and worth considering if you want to keep the original pipe on. I've had no problems with it at all.

Yeap, that's exactly what I want to do. My panniers have a cut out and I want to keep the silencer. What I wondered was how good you found the extension from Excel, I am considering bu one of these rather than knocking my own up with some old pipe.

Do you ever remove the extension or do you keep the boxes on the bike the whole time? Does it leak where it joins the can? Has it ever fallen off?

Thanks for the help, i appreciate hearing your experience with this pipe.

Cheers,
Jon.

Jon,
I leave the extension on all the time but I remove the panniers when just going for day rides. The extension is a pretty good fit to the muffler.....a really nicely
machined alloy piece fits to the muffler held on with 3 springs through a s/steel plate. It does move if you jiggle it around as it's held on with springs, but the springs are quite tight. Haven't noticed any leaking at all.
I leave the extension on all the time as it would be a hassle to remove and replace all the time. I reckon it's worth the asking price for the quality it is!

Billy
