Possible thread hijack. Those who have removed/disabled the flap - has this cured the reported stalling issues on a blipped throttle (if any of you had them)?

I might unhook mine from the cables............If it seizes it might aswell seize in the open position and at least the bike will run!

Im thinking of removing my flapper valve here, what do you do with the cables, do you disconnect them from the servo also do you leave the servo wired up or unplug it

Easiest to leave the servo in place. AIUI the ECU will flag up an error if you remove it (not one that shows on the dash though)

I was thinking of removing mine but was told by local indy that this would invalidate any warrenty that I have with BMW.

Guys I am trying very hard here to source a pipe here in the Saarf..I know the measurements are

c. Tube outer diameter: 63.5mm.
d. Tube inner diameter: approximately 57mm. as per nick
My question is, is it a straight pipe without a taper on it? That makes it fairly solid and thick pipe at nearly 6mm thickness....or is it tapered from 63.5mm down to roughly 57mm at t other end..PS I would go and look but its pissing outside and I left my tools at the airport on the IOM...

57mm Inside diameter sounds wrong - its only about 1mm to 2mm thick piece of straight pipe, so at least one of diameters in that article is wrong. Just buy one from Nippy Normans. At £30 its a rip off but a lot easier than messing about and by the time you have travelled backwards and forwards to collect it, return it coz its wrong, get another etc etc its got to be cheaper and its 99% certain to bolt straight on

Seems if I had been asking for the right dimensions in the first place, it would have been simple to source...Anyhow, might wait till I get my tools back to take it apart and inspect before biting the bullet (Ill only need it working when I want to sell it on anyway)

If you wait that long it will seize soon enough. Get yourself a can of graphite penetrating spray and use regularly on the valve spindle.

I bought the Nippy Normans one, fitting was easy, although I think it should be about 10mm longer as it doesn't quite fit in fully on both ends. Might just be my silencer position though. One thing, it pops on the overrun, which is cool.
I disconnected the whole thing as it is neater, just taped over the connector.

Use the bike regulary and give it a squirt with something like bendy suggests or even WD40. There's a small hole in the plastic cover that allows you to easily do that.
Mine's now six years old with 32k miles and working fine. I've had the de cat headers and I've used the nippy Norman pipe. It's sitting on the shelf, just in case. The nippy Norman pipe fitted mine perfectly. You may need to move the silencer a bit on its mounting. I just prefer the way the valve works.
Intend to pick up a spare sometime.
