Working on 2 BMWs today, a 1998 R850R and a 1983/4 K100RS.
The R850 was bought for spares for myself, (mainly the gearbox), and is low mileage. I decided to remove the exhaust pipes and found that all the exhaust nuts had that 'rubbery' feel to them, meaning I'm going to have to spend a bit of time and care removing the studs.
The K100 needs the gearbox removing for repair, but because of damage to the silencer/pipe clamps, the exhaust had to be removed as a unit.
8-off rusted 8mm nuts and studs, yet every one unscrewed perfectly from the head without the use of force or heat!
Sod's Law at it's best!
