exe valley camping is a top place , we stayed there this summer , great little pub serving real ales and proper cider and excellent food just across the road . Really friendly place .

Yes it does look nice doesn't it and apparently you can fly fish the Exe which runs along the side of the site for free.

For just relaxation you can cast your fishing line from your pitch

Looking to go back to Brendon for 2013, been waiting for a nice day to take Sandy out on the bike and get it arranged. Having chatted to Paul about it, we'll be starting the event in the SW section and, if it draws large numbers, it may be promoted into a national event. Dates to come soonish.

I can also recommend Lowtrow Cross too, CW's had their camping weekend there this year.

Lowtrow's a good site, but there's insufficient alternative accommodation for those not wishing to camp. Also, if i were to arrange a camping only weekend, i'd go to Woodbury Salterton, fantastic pub and superb campsite with great access to all sorts of rides.

Let's go there, I know a cracking Farm B&B nearby and i'm sure there's plenty of green lanes nearby too

Ok, heads up for some feedback folks. The only weekend i can arrange Exmoor is the 5th-7th April 2013. This is because it's a popular group gathering spot and May's fully booked. I can't do later in the year as that will clash with other events already posted.
So, what's the preference. Brendon the weekend after Easter, camping and B&B's available or, May 17th-19th at Woodbury Salterton, for a camping biased weekend with Johnny's B&B down the road for the lucky few?

Also, due to the popularity of Brendon, i'll look into booking it for 2014, before anyone else gets in there!

If it's near E Devon, then I'm sure that we could seek help from Devon TRF to lead an offroad ride and there's some good road rides up the Devon/Dorset coast or across to Exmoor/Dartmoor too
I'm sure there's some more B&B's in and around the Woodbury area too

Be great to go back , really enjoyed this year's exploits there but can't commit to week after Easter in 2013 as we're going to GS@Holland at Easter (ferry booked )and, given my current wobbly-job prospects unlikely to be able to afford it.

Sounds good to me and as and when I get a diary I'll pop the dates in it.

I'm sure it will be a success Rich so I would suggest not canvassing interest, why not just delete this thread and just start a new one in the events section. I quite fancy walk out sometime so will take a camera and gets some photos of Brendon and the surrounding area.
